With teacher, Jeannine Gruska,
from Dearborn Heights
This class is for all levels, no experience necessary.
Begin or expand your bookbinding skills by learning three different styles of Japanese Stab Binding with Jeannine Gruska.
Make all three books in this 2.5 hour class!
One book uses traditional Japanese chiyogami for the covers and mulberry for the pages along with the traditional structures of inner paper ties and book cloth corners. The stitching, while it looks complicated, is actually quite simple to follow.
Materials to make the other two will be made with Western papers using more decorative stitches but a simpler construction.
This class is for creative (or wannabe’s!) adults into DIY, indie crafts, #lovelansing!
No bookbinding experience is needed to enjoy this class.
